05. What screening requirements for visitors did hospitals implement during the COVID-19 pandemic?
a. A majority of hospitals (43/70) enacted screening policies for visitors to the facility, with 40 facilities screening for “symptoms” and 20 specifying fever screening/temperature check. Only 1 institution required a negative COVID-19 test for entrance. 22 sites incorporated age restrictions for visitors, primarily limiting entrance to adults (>18 years old); a few discouraged visitations for adults over the age of 70 or for those with specific health conditions. Most hospitals required masks for visitors (49/70), but only 14 specified that masks would be provided by facility if visitors did not have their own.
